I gave myself the challenge of creating an entirely new brand and company from scratch. I created this *fake* company, Ford's Animal Sanctuary, and built a brand/visual identity that felt fun, and expressed the joy that a new furry friend can bring! This project explores visual identity, assets, and the associated brand guideline.
Primary Logo
I wanted to create a fun, friendly, and inviting first impression to this new company. Choosing a rounded, sans serif font, paired with an adorable mascot created that atmosphere I was searching for with this brand.
Secondary & Tertiary Logos
Paired with the original logo, I wanted the secondary logo (or the badge) to invoke those same friendly emotions. The bone taken from the primary logo was incorporated in this way for the second logo to create variety between the assets. The tertiary logo shows a basic template that can be used for any branding material.
Colors
Colors invoke specific emotions, especially when it comes to brand design. The colors of your design will determine how the average consumer sees your brand. Ford's Animal Sanctuary uses a collection of blues, and oranges. All colors are, very fittingly, named after animal based motifs. The blue and orange reflect the friendliness shown in the logos while still working very strongly with each other.
Mascots & Patterns
These assets can be used for any marketing material the company sees fit. By creating cat and bird pairings of the main mascot, the company shows inclusivity of all animals. The pattern reflects this notion. All animals are welcome at Ford's Animal Sanctuary!
Typography
What's more friendly than a rounded typeface? TWO rounded typefaces! When choosing fonts, I wanted to be sure to choose fonts that spoke to me and this brand. Both work very well together without overshadowing the other.
Photography
When making a brand around animals, naturally you have to find the *perfect* animal photography. Since Ford's Animal Sanctuary welcomes all animals, I wanted to be sure to select images that had a wide variety of species. All photos are evenly lit and have the same overall vibe; happy animals!
Merchandise Mockups
These are a few examples of some potential merchandise that the company could sell to clients and their pets.
