As the final capstone of my career at Southern Utah University (SUU), I created "Sound in a Silent Room". This project explores the question "what is something that you are too scared to say out loud?" Not only does this question help us understand others, but it also helps us understand ourselves. Sound in a Silent Room means having bravery to speak up about your own thoughts and feelings in times of vulnerability. Being vulnerable is an important part of the human experience - it is how we are able to connect with each other. I wanted this project to serve as an extension of my own experiences by highlighting the experiences of others who felt the same way I did.

This project was created through February-October 2024. This process included photographing & interviewing the models, creating photo negatives, developing cyanotypes, screen printing text, and sewing the final project together. Along side the main "curtain", I also created an accompanying publication, which included more physically made cyanotypes.
